Best beach

Which hotel has a better beach, the Ritz or the Marriott. We are planning to boogie board and snorkle close to the hotel. Thx, AZ Scott

Which Marriott? Wailea or Kaanapali?

We love the beach at the Ritz. Also tends to be less rocky there. Beach at Marriott Kaanapali is mediocre. Beach gets better the further north on Kaanapali Beach you go, with Sheraton having the best beach. Can't help you with the other marriott.

P.s. The Sheraton is also on Black Rock with great snorkeling out your hotel room door. If it is an option for you, that is the best of both worlds. Great beach, great resort hotel, and great snorkeling right out your door.

D.T. Flemming Beach is a great place for boogie board/wave play....some find it a bit rough (can be touchy in the winter...), but I also like to snorkel here.....breakwater can be bothersome, but I'll go out a ways past the breaks, by the rocks on the left..

Flemming is the closest beach to the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua. North of Kapalua beach and just north of Oneloa (Ironwoods) beach, if you look at a map.

If the water is a bit rough for snorkeling, Kapalua beach is highly recommended, and just a few min south of here!

Napili is the next beach traveling south & some think it's the best of both worlds!

Kaanapali beach is too narrow & a little crowded for my taste, but still a very nice beach.

You really can't lose at the Ritz.....but, keep in mind it will close July 2 through December for major renovations!

Confusing question. You post in the Wailea forum, but the Ritz is on the other side of the island from Wailea. Did you mean Four Seasons? There is a Marriott on the Wailea side and all the beaches along the Wailea coast are nice, and you can easily get from one to the other by a short walk.

The Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa does not have a beach....

Its shoreline is entirely rocky (no sand pockets), and is not appropriate for water recreation, especially if there are any waves, unless you are a seasoned Hawaii visitor or resident. They even have signs posted warning against entering the water in the area.

However, an excellent beach is located on either side of the property, a short walk along an oceanfront promenade. Ulua Beach to the north and Wailea Bay beach to the South.
