We generally dont' book accommodation in advance on our American Road Trips but would it be advisable to book for arrival on June 2.

We have never booked in advance in our road trips to the Black Hills area, and have never had a problem finding a decent place to stay in Keystone.

The last two trips, we traveled at the end of August through the first 2 weeks in Sept., so the time of year may make a difference on available lodging.

Of course I cannot promise that you will not have any trouble finding a hotel room, but early June is usually not the kind of busy that would require advance booking.
