Greenland Hotel and area

Have just booked a last minute week to this hotel and was wondering what there is in the Ovacik area.

Is it a town or just an area of hotels and apartments?

Is there anywhere to walk to in the area?

Have read the reviews on hotel and is sounds good.

Any help much appreciated.

hi bettyboo.

well ovacik.is a nice place, but if you either get a taxi or dolmus from your hotel, its about a 10mins approx, ride into hisaronu.which is a very good area for night-life,places to eat,and other things to do.the gold shops there are cheap.better prices than the uk.

there is an azda there, also a morrisons.the chinese next to asda is really good the resturant is upstairs.and its clean.

also you find many tour operators there the best one are carole/tayfun.

for booking trips,

every tues(i think) there is a market (dont forget to haggle)

if you want to buy tobacco DONT BUY IT IN THE MARKET,ITS FAKE.

if you want to ask any more please do.

kind regards.

Many thanks

Unfortunately we will miss the market as we dont arrive till Tuesday teatime.

Think a spot of haggling in Hisaronu is a must, you cant beat haggling over clothes in Turkey.

Am looking foward to it as its a different area than we normally go, we usually Lara Beach/ Belek area so will be a nice change.

The Market in Hisaronu is on a Monday, and Fethiye market is on a Tuesday. There are many bars and restaurants in Ovacik, which are very good but Hisaronu has more to offer in choice of shops and places to eat and drink etc.
