visiting with a toddler

planning on spending a night at far view lodge, will be driving in from durango, whats a good time to leave durango in the morning?

can anyone suggest some things to do that will be good for a 16 month old? and then the next day we are planning on going to pagosa springs, should we spend the morning at mesa verde of just head to pagosa? we are not spending the night in pagosa because the hotel is $200 : ( so after the springs we will drive back to durango

Mesa Verde NP...visit Spruce Tree House (an up and down hike on paved trails...our son did it at 2 years old), also drive the Mesa Top Ruins Road, short walks to ruins..you will enjoy the history...the kiddo will enjoy the walking.

Also Farview Ruins is fun to visit.

With a young kid...maybe 4-5 hours in the park. I guess it just depends on what you want to see..the kid can go with you. The ranger guided tours of Cliff Palace and Balcony House will be too hard with a toddler..save that for a few more years.
