A good hotel near the airport?

We are flying from the UK into Atlanta on 8 July aririving around 6pm. After a long flight we think it best to get a hotel near the airport,and pick up a car for our onward journey to Memphis the next day.Can anyone suggest a good value for money hotel near the airport for one night, which has a shuttle service or is easily reached by taxi? (We need to return to the airport the following morning to pick up a car). Any advice on one way car hire (drop off in Nashville) for 9 days would also be appreciated.

Any airport hotel will have a shuttle to pick you up. My advice is to go to the Hotels tab to the left, and then sort by neighborhood, selecting the airport as the neighborhood. It will let you see which are the highest rated hotels by price range.

Re: rental cars, most major companies allow one way rentals. You can price that on a website like expedia.com. Usually you just pay the regular daily fee plus a one-way fee.

My experience is that one-way fees vary considerably. Look at Expedia, but also Orbitz. I will do a one-way hire from Orlando to Atlanta in the summer & on Orbitz I found a good price with Alamo.

There is usually an additional charge for renting from the airport, so picking up a car in the city, and staying in a hotel near to the rental agency, might be worth looking into (if your taxi fare doesn't eat up what you would save).

Check out the Drury Inn at the ATL airport. After the UK, every hotel in Atlanta will be reasonable for you.

Also look at flying from Atlanta to Memphis / Nashville --- Often times you can fly that short of a distance on Airtran for $50-100. Then you can rent a car in Memphis if you still need to, and wont be subjet to the high prices of one-way drop-off
