Buses

I am visiting Castellamare del Golfo September 11th - 15th. We do not have a car and will rely on public transport (2 girls in the party). I would like to visit Palermo overnight on the weekend, however I am not sure if the buses run on the Sunday?

1. Do the buses run on Sunday?

2. How much will it cost from Castellamare del Gulfo to Palermo, San Vito Lo Capo and Zingaro Nature reserve?

3. How long will it take?

Any advice is welcome as the guide books do not contain this information.

Many Thanks

Joanna x

Welcome to Sicily jovoudou!

Russo runs the direct bus service between Castellammare del Golfo and Palermo. Check the Russo website for information. “Domencale” is the Sunday schedule - There's very limited Sunday evening service.

You might also take the train.

The train station is a ways out of town. Maybe your hotel has a shuttle to it, or amybe they can call a taxi for you. Not sure if there is a bus. I was in Castellammare for 2 weeks in Feb 2010, and the only buses I saw were the ones going to Palermo.

Train station is the blue trolly car on the map
