Trani - public transport.

Hello,

I will be visiting Trani with my mother in September.

I have heard that it can be difficult and a long way to walk around Trani - we will mainly be visiting the cemetery and the old town. We will not have a car.

Any suggestions on how we could make our way around the city during the day? Are there many taxis available there, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Laura

Hello again Laura. Are you arriving by train?

Laura, I have contacted a friend in Trani to ask about taxis. He’s away at the moment. I will get back to you when I hear from Francesco.

Trani is pretty flat but the station is a bit of a walk from the Old Town; would you go to the cemetery first, and then to the Old Town? With a taxi back to the station at the end of your visit?

Yes please, that would be wonderful.

We will go to the cemetery, then the only town.

We will be coming from the train station.

I look forward to your response.

Thank you

The orange circolare buses take you out to the cemetary, which is outside of town on the Barletta road. It would be a good 20-25 minute walk from the station out there, so you'd be best getting a taxi (not many available but there are a couple) or the circolare.

If you got the bus from Bari to Barletta instead of the train you could get off right outside the cemetary. The trip from Bari would take longer obviously, but perhaps more convenient in the long run.
