Downtown Seattle to Red Mill Burgers

Is it possible to get from a city hotel to a Red Mill Burger store easily via public transport?? Coming from Australia, we will not have a car but really want to visit Red Mill after seeing it on Man v Food.

Where will you be staying? The Interbay location is closer to downtown. http://www.redmillburgers.com/directions.htm Use the Metro trip planner on their home page - enter starting/ending street addresses, date, time of day, etc. http://metro.kingcounty.gov/

If you are visiting the Hiram Chittenden Locks in Ballard there is a Red Mill location across the street at the Totem House, a former fish and chips restaurant. I've eaten there and it has a full burger menu and fish.

You can easily get to the Red Mill that was on tv by taking the #5 bus from 3rd Ave downtown and getting off at the Phinney Center. Just ask the driver where to get off, or look for this building.

Both the local and the express #5 will stop there. On the timetable, you'll want to go toward Shoreline, and your stop will be a few minutes past the 46th and Phinney stop. You'll see Red Mill from the bus stop. The bus will also let you see something of Seattle's neighborhoods, which might be a nice change from downtown. If you go at peak hours be prepared to wait and/or not get a table.

I would not personally make a trip for red mill burgers but if you want to I would pick the Phinney or Ballard locations over interbay/magnolia because the trip and surroundings will be more interesting. The Phinney location is near the zoo and the Ballard location is not only near the locks but the old totem house building is interesting ... And Ballard is increasingly popular for dining, drinking (including 10 breweries) and live music.
