My favorite seafood restaurant is Elliott's Oyster House. With tip, it costs me $26 for a nice dinner of great salmon.

The Metropolitan Grill ($35) and Anthony's price ($30) a little bit higher in price. I would say that the Metropolitan Grill is quite an experience because they have pictures with celebrities that have visited.

Ivars salmon house on Lk Union is very good for indian style salmon. Much different from the waterfront Ivars. My other suggestion is McCormick and Schmicks. While they are now a national chain, they started as a local Seattle seafood rest. My favorite location is the Harborside on Lk Union. Rays and Elliotts are also good.

First of all, don't let ANYONE sucker you into thinking you have to go to Saltys on Alki. The food is mediocre but the prices are totally out of the ballpark. Go to Alki for the sunset view -- the best in Seattle and then stop at the bakery for dessert.

Now, for seafood my pick is Place Pigalle in the market. The most perfectly prepared seafood in the city. Also, for a traditional Seattle seafood experience go to Ivars -- downtown.

Have a nice trip

Try Salty's at Alki beach. They have saturday/Sunday branch - all you can eat for $26-28 per person. Oysters, salmon, dungeness crabs, clams, shrimps, etc. as well as regular brunch food: chicken, potatoes, eggs, veggies, ham, sausages and great desserts :-). Don't forget to make a reservation - you won't get in without it.

oh, and the bestest halibut on Alki is at the SunFish (I think that's the name - almost the farthest restaurant). Tiny place, not fancy at all, the freshiest fish ever :-). Cheap.

When you are done doing your Hotsy ~ Totsy dining for $'ss fish...and you are taking a day trip to the ""Ballard Locks"" remember.....just across the street is a place called "Totem Fish"......this is where you will find ~*~Seattle's Best Fish&Chips~*~. (Not the fanciest place & easy on the wallet.) You will instantly understand why this place has been a local favorite for years.

You can't go wrong with Ponti's Seafood Grill in Fremont. It is expensive but not outragously so.

If you like mussels, you must try Maximilien in the Market. Bonus: It has a spectacular view of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mtns. It's romantic and French but not stuffy at all. Great happy hour menu, and you can always order from the lounge menu upstairs. Here's a link: http://www.maximilienrestaurant.com/

Coastal Kitchen is a slightly quirky seafood restaurant on Capitol Hill with a menu that changes quarterly. Any of its sister restaurants would also be a good choice. They all have their own personalities. http://www.chowfoods.com/CoastalKitchen.asp

Flying fish is one of the most popular restaurants around. You can order a small plate, a large plate or a platter. Interesting food, too.

For waterfront seafood, try Chinook's or Anthony's for their huge menus. Both also have fish and chip takeout counters. www.anthonys.com/restaurants/info/pier66.html

Or Ray's Boathouse www.rays.com

For a true Seattle experience, buy a couple orders of fries from Ivar's Fish Bar (just north of the ferry terminal) and feed the seagulls right out of your hand. Or feed yourself -- the fish and chips are quite good.
