Planning A Trip To Seattle!

Hey, I am Planning A Trip To Seattle/Washington State in August. I already have a hotel, flights, and car arranged, and many spots to see, but I would like to know if I missed any Must See Spots.

My list includes:

Mount Rainier National Park (Southern side, Paradise; Reflection Lakes; Ohanapecosh River/Forest)

Mount Baker Highway SR 542 (To Bagley Lakes; Heather Meadow; Artists Point; Mount Shuksan & Picture Lake)

Mount St. Helens (Silver Lake; Coldwater Observatory; Johnston Ridge Observatory)

North Cascades National Park (Diablo Lake; Tour Boat On Diablo Lake; Washington Pass; Trail Of Cedars)

Bainbridge Island

Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge; Lake Crescent; Possibly Sol Duc Falls)

Pike Place

Pioneer Square

Bank Of America Observatory Deck

Space Needle

Pacific Place

I Am Also Considering Visiting:

Carbon River Valley (Mount Rainier)

Quinault Rainforest

Tacoma Area

Touring the Capitol Building (Olympia)

San Juan Islands

More of Kitsap Peninsula

If there are other places within there National Parks and other places you would recommend, please list them too.

Your itinerary sounds wonderful, can I come!

Just one thing, parking at Paradise can be like parking at IKEA on a weekend, if you can get there really early (allow 2-2 1/2 hours for the drive from Seattle, without stopping) then you should be rewarded with a parking place. I am partial to Sunrise, the north side, but it's not as 'in your face' spectacular as Paradise.

Mount St Helens- I have become hooked on the Volcano cam!

the EMP Experiance Music Project

if you like music history go

if you love/like Jimi Hendrix go

if you like to play with instruments go

go go go

there is also a Sci Fi tour which is extra but is you love Sci Fi it's also good to see.

Even if you don't go in and take the tour the building is one of a kind. And it's right next to the Needle.

thats a pretty full itinerary. You might want to add Snoqualmie Falls which is east of Seattle on I-90. Perhaps its not necessary. When I drive people to Mt. Rainier I head far south and come in the back way to Paradise then circle the mountain leaving towards the Sunrise side. Its been a long time since I actually went to the Paradise lodge, but that way you see the whole mountain.

I highly reccomend the San Juan Islands you can take a ferry from up north in Anacortes on your way to the North Cascades. They are very beautiful and worth the trip. North Cascades are my favorite as they have amazing trees and foliage and a lot more privacy than the southern cascades in Washington.
