We (2 of us, aged 23 and 24) are flying into Munich Airport this March.. we have booked 5 nights at AlpenParks Parkhotel Zell am See for €380 from 12-17 March..
Now, we need to decide on:
1) Getting from MUC to zell am see.
I did a search through the forum and seems like its recommended to get the Bayern Ticket for 2-5 people for €28 each. Would we qualify for any sort of youth discount if we purchase regular tickets? Also, can the Bayern tickets be bought over the counter when we land in MUC at 6am?
2) AlpenParks Parkhotel
If it's located beside the City Express ski lift, which train stop do we get off??
3) Rental of skis and equipment.
Skiing is a rare occasion for us so we won't be buying any ski stuff (other than waterproof pants and jacket?).. http://www.skipro.at/en_main.html offers skis, boots, poles for 5 day for €71 (online booking) each person? Does that look resonable or should we check out the ski rental shops when we get there?
4) Ski School
Same goes for lessons, we're first timers and just want to have a go at skiing.. thinking of either 3day/4hrs for €155 or 3days/2hrs for €109 at http://www.ski-zellamsee.at/en/index.html. Again, should we book online or wait till we're there?
This is a pretty last-minute trip.. we had already decided to do a tour of central europe (and planned it all) but due to exams, we only have a week to travel.... so we've chosen to ski in austria instead! would appreciate all your advice and tips :)
