El Gato Negro Expanding at French Market location

It is my understanding they are taking over the now empty store next store which use to be a produce market and converting it to a Tequila Bar.

Happy days are here again! That is excellent news! Will El Gato also expand the restaurant into that area as well? Thanks for the info Mac! When will they be expanding? Will it be ready for us by October?

Expand the restaurant and the courtyard would be great! Would be great if it was all done by October, but we are talking about NO..... you know, everything is done on NO time. :) As long as they don't have to close for a bit because of the renovation. EGN is a definite to do for the family.

porelly, you'll have to join us to sample a few (or 20) margaritas before they arrive...you know, just to make sure they're up to par! lol!

Thanks for that link! I've tried making them just from memory but something was missing, now I see it was the lemon and lime juice. Can't wait to try again!

I made these last Tuesday at my Taco Tuesday after work event and everyone loved them! We also had Monteleone Cocktails and those were a big hit too.

Monteleone Cocktail

2 oz Rye Wiskey

1 ½ oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur

½ oz Domaine De Canton Ginger Liqueur

2 dashes Fee Brothers Orange Bitters

Splash Ginger Ale

Shake ingredients and strain into a julep cup or cocktail glass with crushed ice. Garnish with orange slice.
