Buffet brunches are not highly thought of in New Orleans (folks don't seem to like standing in line for food and they demand freshness), but they are available:

Begue’s (Royal Sonesta). 300 Bourbon: French Quarter. 553-2278.

Court of Two Sisters. 613 Royal: French Quarter. 522-7273.

Hotel Inter-Continental (3 short blocks from the French Quarter). Veranda. 444 St. Charles Ave: CBD. 525-5566.

Turtle: Don't know when you are going. But I'll be sure to give a review on Begue's after our visit on April 1st.

I'll be there before you - we are going on March 12, so if we go I'll post it on my trip report.

House of Blues has (or had) a gospel brunch buffet. As far as the food goes, the music was great. I would go again, but it is not a great culinary experience.

Thanks Turtle. I'll be watching. FYI: it's expensive...$50.00. But we are celebrating mother’s 80th.

So whatever she wants this trip..she gets.

Have a great time.

A bit different experience (a soul food eatery, not an elegant restaurant), and not in the FQ (but easily walkable from), but Li'l Dizzy's Cafe on Esplanade has a Sunday brunch buffet, which I am planning to check out in May. Now picture me next to their wonderful bread pudding *in unlimited quantity* Will I fit into the door on the way out? :-)

Nay, I don't want to find a "Sorry, for a very important reason we have to be closed today" note on the door. So I guess I'll take them by surprise. ;-)
