car rental - new orleans

We'll be flying to new orleans - do we need to rent a car? I thought if you stayed in the right place everything was in walking distance.

You do not need a car at all, Everything is easily accessible. Get a taxi from the airport to your hotel and back.

No car required. Keep your money for great food, drinks, and souvenirs.

Stay in the French Quarter, and you can walk or streetcar your way anywhere's.

Here's a link to United Cab. Keep this # in case you need to catch a cab home after dinner late at night. Tkae a cab from the airport to your hotel for $33.00 for two persons. You can walk around in the FQ, Marigny and CBD easily during the day. Take the street on Canal. It goes to City Park. The Riverfront SC will take you from Esplanade on the E side of the FQ to the Convention Center if you need to dine or visit along the river. Take the St. Charles streetcar to the GD or Uptown. There's a lot to see in that area.

Are you staying in the FQ. Stay at Le Marais, Monteleone, Provincial, St. Marie, Place D Armes, Iberville Suites or Dauphine Orleans.

Hotel Le Marais @ 717 Conti Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 525 - 2300.

Carol........I don't know how long you will be in NOLA. If you decide to tour the city and need a car or go on a plantation tour you can rent from Avis or Budget at their downtown location on Canal just a few blocks from the FQ. Most tours will pick you up but you could drive out to one of the plantations if you rent a car for a day and have lunch after your tour. Enjoy your trip.

CAR RENTAL...............

Avis @ 2024 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 523 - 4318.

Budget @ 1317 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 565 - 5600.
