Where do the locals eat?

Our party of 4 want to eat where the locals eat. Where do the locals go for real cajun/creole food?

By the way, Liuzza's isn't Uptown. It's on Bienville St. in Mid-City (near City Park). It's a neighborhood kind of place. They serve what I'd call "comfort food." And they serve beer in huge frosted goblets. Unless they've changed their policy, they don't accept credit cards.

My favorites are Mr. Ed's in Bucktown, The College Inn on Carollton, Liuzza's off Canal St. and this is both a locals and tourist destination, but you cannot go wrong with eating here and that is Commander Palace. Brocatto's is a great place for Italian pastries and a good cup of espresso.
