Trying to pack for Sri Lanka, wondering if I need warm clothes for Nuewra Eliyia. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks
Pack a jumper or light fleece for Nuwara Eliya. The temperature there will be pleasant during the day if it is sunny, but it gets cool in the evenings and quite cold overnight (many of the hotels actually supply hot water bottles....) Also, the climate at NE is such that it gets a lot of mist, drizzle and low cloud, so if you get weather like that, you will welcome the jumper, even by day.
In April you can expect day temperatures around 20 C and night temperatures around 10-12 C, but can drop to 6-8 C. April is a relatively dry month in Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya can also be quite busy at this time because it is usually so hot at lower altitudes and so favoured as a getaway from the heat destination. Think warm spring day during daylight hours and a bit chilly at night.
