The cottage suites are set back (but close) from the main pool which has a low level hedge surrounding it. For ground floor straight out the door excess to a pool, you should consider a Deluxe Room in the newer section of the resort. This area also has its own pool and is quieter than around the main pool and has a shallow section for young children. The difference in room size between Cottage Suite (68 m2) and Deluxe (60 m2) is marginal (both are huge) and will easily accommodate a family with 2 or 3 children. The Deluxe Rooms have 3 levels with half facing in towards the pool. Just remember hotels cannot guarantee a specific room location, you can only request and it’s usually pot luck when you first arrive if a ground floor room is available.Hope this helps.

Just thought, be aware there is Melasti Beach Resort at Legian and Melasti Bungalows Resort at Tuban. If you book make sure it is Melasti Beach Resort at Legian, people sometimes get them mixed up even travel agents.

There are suites in 2 wings, The old wing nearest the beach and the new wing nearer the road. I like the old suites best as I think they have slightly bigger space.

The main difference between Cottage & Deluxe Suites is the Cottage Suite has a partitioned wall between bedroom and lounge area. This area has two drop down beds which converts in effect to a 2nd bedroom and allows some privacy for both parents and children. The Cottage Suites are in blocks of four, except one which has six (three floors), try to avoid the 3rd floor suite, too many stairs for young children & old adults. For families the cottage suites are ideal, the area is more open and it’s not far to either pool. As for prices ring them, have a look at on-line booking sites and ask your travel agent if they can match or better quoted prices. The best deal we managed this year was actually from our travel agent for accommodation. Just keep in mind that Melasti being budget and popular with Aussie families you may need to secure a booking well in advance for school holiday periods.
