Recommendations for hotels in or around Amed

We're travelling to Bali in April and are staying in Nusa Dua, however we'd like to explore a bit and go somehere a little less touristy and quiet or a day or 2, somewhere with good snorkelling off the hotel or a beach nearby. It would be great if there are some places to eat nearby too?

So I'd love ot hear if anyone has any recommendations for me?

Thanks,

Heather

Hi Heather,

Amed ticks your boxes, it's quiet. good snorkelling directly from the beach in several places & it's uncommercialised. If you want to PM me with your email I can send you a list of Amed hotels & websites. Also can you give me an idea of your budget per night. Some beaches are white sand, others volcanic sand, others pebbly. Do you mind which type of beach? There is only one main road through Amed, most hotels are either beachside or across the road from the beach.

We spent a week last July at Bayu Cottages, and have booked to go back for two weeks this July and another week over New Year, which I guess is a good recommendation. Nothing flash, and very quiet, but good snorkelling, a choice of restaurants nearby, and we just really liked it! Have a look at the reviews, which are pretty accurate I think (good and bad).

My vote would be for Kembali Beach Bungalows.

I stayed at Blue Moon Villas in 2008. The villas were lovely, the pools gorgeous and the food very good. Staff were upbeat and always willing to help. Loved the place.

I'd also recommend Kembali beach bungalows. I'm pretty sure two of their bungalows had an intercommunicating door as you're a family.

Whoops muddled you with another post but definitely recommend Kembali.

Can visit Tirtagangga from here with a driver and go up the coast to snorkel at Tulamben-which was one of the best snorkelling experiences on our last trip to Bali.

Kembali Beach Bungalows are great and there are indeed interconnecting rooms. Great snorkelling off the hotel. Good restaurants nearby.

I sent you some photos at the weekend but all emails were returned as delivery failures. Is your inbox full?
