Waste from houseboats killing Vembanad Lake (Alleppey)

Here is a report on Times of India.

A study conducted by Alappuzha district panchayat reveals that houseboats in the district are "killing" Vembanad Lake, the largest wetland ecosystem in south India, by dumping huge amount of waste into it. This is also destroying the fish wealth in the lake.

There was someone else who used to post about this a couple of years ago, Suresh. I remember that Deepa had countered this, but I do not remember the details.
