Wedding Reception

My fiance and I are trying to plan a wedding in Gatlinburg this summer. While we are haveing no trouble at all finding a wedding chapel the reception is becoming another issue. Most chapels offer a reception package, but most are ummm cheesy at best and over prices. So if anyone can recomend a reception site that would be great. If not McDonalds will have to do!!!

Hello!

I think I might be able to give some helpful advice.

We travel to Gatlinburg every year so we know all the

restaurants and what is good and what is not.

Is money an issue? How much can you spend?

The top place in Gatlinburg to eat is The Peddler Steakhouse

which is amazing. They have large tables and a wonderful

food selection including an top-notch salad bar.

Other Restaurants In Gatlinburg that are an A+

The Park Grill- owned by same as peddler except more

casual atmosphere.

Damon's - Nice Variey of Food plus big screen tv's

Outback Steakhouse

Applebees

Applewood Grill- replaced the burning bush restaurant

Have you decided where you and your family will be staying? We were married in Gatlinburg a few years ago at the then new "CHAPEL AT THE PARK". They do offer a reception area now but at that time they did not. We rented several cabins together on a cul-de-sac and opted to have an outdoor reception at the resort. It turned out beautiful and I could not have been happier with the results. The baker even delivered the wedding cake to the cabin. We did not want to have our reception in a restaurant even though there were many good restaurant options. We had gorgeous weather but did have a backup plan of having the party in one of the cabins if necessary.

Hey Everyone!! Thank you for the advice. My fiance and I went to Gatlinburg this past weekend and booked the River Terrace in downtown. We sampled some food and it was great. We'll probably get married there in the Gazebo. Yes Money is an issue. She is a school teacher and I work for a Fire and Water Damage restoration company. Her parents have passed so everything is getting paid for out of our pockets. We also looked for those restaurants you mentioned Christy but I couldn't find either the two you mentioned. The Peddler and the other place they own. SO I do have another question for you helpful people. I now have to plan a honeymoon for five days. What can I do for five days in June??? The stress is killing me!!! Akkkkkkkk!!!!!!!

If ur staying in gatlinurg, i would suggest checking out ripleys aquarium, andpossily go to cades cove. cades cove is a great place to view wildlife. i would also check out ober gatlinburg. It is the ski place but u wont do much skiing in june. they have an indoor ice rink. outside they have a skylift and alpine slides. i would also check out cooters garage if u are a dukes of hazzard fan like myself. benjnes, cooter himself runs it andu might catch him. if not, u can see an original general lee. women love shopping so check out the outlets in sevierville. outlets are a great place to shop if ur on a budget. go to a touristifo place and see what festivals or special events r going on. Also dollywood is a great place to spend a day. hopefully this has helped.

the restaurants I mentioned before. In June there are

many things to do.

Make sure to visit The Aquarium in Gatlinburg it is wonderful.

ride on the sky lift with incredible views.

Shopping in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is nice

Hillbilly Golf in Gatlinburg is putt-putt golf (very fun)

Be sure to visit the Winery

You will find these things at www.gatlinburg.com

A great place to stay (we always stay at)

is Best Western Zoder's Inn they have rooms and suites.

The King Deluxe is a nice room with refrigerator,mini-bar

and large balcony overlooking the creek.

Whatever you do eat breakfast at the Log Cabin Pancake House

which is located on Historic Nature Trail in Gatlinburg.

Real easy to find just one street off the main parkway.

This is a real log cabin and the breakfast is Amazing!

We ate here on our anniversary a few years ago and

loved it.
