Anyone used Cabins for you?

I wondering if anyone has ever stayed at " LaBelle Chateau" with cabins for you?

Wanting any feed back before actually booking. I have read several reviews and more than half are not GOOD. So any feed back on this particular cabin would be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We were robbed the day after Thanksgiving by someone who had the security code to the door--so obviously it was someone inside the organization since the entire lock had just been changed with the last tennants. They stole my purse with my I Phone, gun, camera, jewerly, and some Christmas gifts we had just purchased. They touched NOTHING belonging to the cabin. We had to call the "supervisor" several times before getting hold of anyone who then told us they have no responsibility whatsoever.

The cabin was on a VERY steep, winding, narrow road and was not cleaned properly. The dishwasher was so cheap that it left food on all the dishes even after pre-washing them by hand!

What was the name of this cabin?

In what area was it located?

When you spoke to the police, did they have any information on any other reported break-ins in the area? Or burglaries committed on properties owned by the organization?

Are you taking the management company's word that the lock code was changed? Have you asked for the prior renter's contact information to verify if that is indeed the correct information?

While I am familiar with management policies and disclaimers about stolen property and waivers that must be signed in order to rent these properties, I also know that reasonable steps must be taken by said companies to guard against these instances. If I were you, I would pursue all of my options.

We rented river retreat cabin for cabin for you December 21-December 25. We arrived to our location early evening. We live 4.5 hours away. We along with our children were very excited about spending our Christmas in a cozy cabin. The entrance/driveway had a two foot drop off in which our car bottomed out in. Our suburban fared the huge pothole in concrete much better. Upon entering the cabin we were met with the overwhelming smell of mold/mildew. Dust was 1/4 think on everything. Lamps, light fixtures, shelves, and picture with dust and dirt. Door facing had dirty handprints and brown splatters everywhere! The beds were so wallowed out that there was literally a hill in the very middle of each bed. Rugs and carpets had multiple stains and dirt covering them. We thought maybe we could just remove the rugs so we could put the little ones down until we saw the scum and bigs under the rugs. We called cabins for us and were told they could sent a clean up crew the following day. Over half of the lights in the house were blown. Our three year old said it was a scary house. Our six year old said mommy we have never stayed in a house like this. We offered to pay for first night and asked for a refund for other nights. We were told that the owners had stayed in cabin just before we got there. The owners reported that cabin was clean and that we were not stating the truth. Cabins for us kept our $1400. The manager hung up on us twice and we started posting things on their facebook page. They then proceeded to block us and deleted our comments. We honestly considered going to Wal-Mart and purchasing sheets and pillows along with cleaning supplies so we could make it through one night. This was before we lifted the covers and sheets. The pillows were urine colored and so we sunk in mattresses. We made a group decision that we could not place a price on our health and safety. We found another rental company who would speak to us and they helped us out of our situation. We ended up staying at one of their clean and beautiful cabins. It was 11pm before we found and moved to the second cabin. Our babies were exhausted and we were a wreck. We went from excitement to total disappointment. I am posting this in hopes that others decide not to trust this company. If they had returned our money and been some what sympathetic to our predicament I would have moved on. I sent them multiple pictures we took. I have received not one single returned phone call. It is truly sad that people operate their business in this way. Hope you all are smart and choose wisely. If it is cheaper it is for a reason! You do not want to stay in River Retreat. Thankfully we came home without scabies and body lice. I certainly do not live in those conditions in my home and I will not pay to stay in them for sure!!

People posting about steep roads... well, this is not the Rockies, but Smoky mountains nevertheless. I can see people not expecting mountain roads when vacationing in FL, but going to the Smokies, it is kind of expected, no? Of course, some are steeper than others. Ask a LOT of questions beforehand, know your driving abilities and your vehicle capabilities, and happy vacationing.

Bree M. unfortunately I doubt what happened to you is specific to just one company. They inevitably have to give door codes to the cleaning crews. And who knows if someone from a cleaning crew "shared" the code with someone else, if you know what I mean. I know couple of G-burg police officers and they tell me it is not specific to one company.

In a hotel sometimes you'd have a safe. I doubt most cabins have a safe - and therefore you should take your valuables (phone, electronics, wallets etc) with you when leaving the cabin. Sorry about your ruined vacation.
