aboslute quickest way to gatlinburg from wears valley all depends upon where in wears valley you are.
if you are at the gas station (either one) in wears valley and start heading towards gatlinburg you'll come upon an outdoor produce market. the road right before that produce market is bryan road. turn right onto bryan road, go to the stop sign and turn left. less than 1/4 th mile will be a road coming in on your right, take that right. this road will bring you out at stop light 10 in pigeon forge and the bp station right at the start of the 4 lane spur to gatlinburg.
that is the quickest way that i know of. i live in maryville and work at westgate smokey mountains resort, which is located right across from the gatlinburg welcome center. so i use this route exclusively for speed, ease, and bypassing all of pigeon forge traffic.
The cabin is near Lynn Springs road and Katy Holler Rd.
take lynn springs to 321, turn right. stay on 321 and turn right on bryan road, at the stop sign turn left onto valley view road. take valley view road not even 1/4th mile to little cove road turn right onto little cove road. it's roughly 6 miles to pigeon forge from this spot. now little cove road is windy it will bring you into the backside of pigeon forge. stay on the road till you hit the stoplight on 441/321, this is stop light #10 in pigeon forge. turn right at the stop light and you are on the spur on your way into gatlinburg.
Khut: I am certain that this route offered is okay....but during daylight hours. I would not use it during the evening. It would probably be better to use TN321 into TN441.
Some of these shortcuts are not only windy, but narrow two lane and wilthout any lighting.
I am certain that this short cut offer meant to mention this route could be a little difficult to manage during the evening hours, as it might not have lighting. Some of the roads in that area of TN. are like that, a rural situation.
lol, you people kill me. of course it's a two lane road you are in the mountains we aren't going to be seeing I-10/I-5 duplicates. and the route that the i listed is no worse than 321 is at night. but if you are going to gatlinburg and wish to bypass all of the pigeon forge traffic and do not want to get to gatlinburg via townsend. then the route that is listed is really the only option. as i said i drive it daily as my commute to and from work.
Thanks for the info. How long would it take if I took Lyon Springs road to Little River Rd in the park and take that route to Gatlinburg?
