how is the skiing in gatlinburg?

I am thinking of taking my family skiing this winter and was wondering if it is crowded or if the skiing is good.

The skiing is fair. The slope is not huge, it will not compare to anything out west or even to something like Snowshoe in Virginia.

If you are a beginning skier, or not a serious skier you will get plently of entertainment from Obergatlinburg. If you want really challenging sking or lots of deep powder you may be disappointed. The slopes are busiest on weekends and in the evenings.

The best thing about coming here to ski is Gatlinburg is very low key and uncrowded after the 1st of January. You can even park on Main Street (the Parkway) and walk into the shops and restaraunts!!
