Best Location to Stay

What would be the best location to stay for a three day weekend. Courtyard in the historic district on 415 West Liberty St. or the Marriott Riverfront on 100 General McIntosh Boulevard.

We want to be close to everything to walk around, but also in a safe area that you can still walk at night and not have to worry about safety.

Check out the Hampton Historic District on East Bay right at the corner of Abercorn. An absolute ideal location, totally safe, across the street from the River shops and River Street, and a nice, reasonably priced hotel. It is ranked highly as hotels to stay in the historic district for a reason. Includes a free breakfast every morning.

Also, just around the corner on Reynolds Square(100 yards from the Hampton) is the Planters Inn. Very nice, upscale, nicer than Hampton..naturally more expensive. It was booked, thus we stayed at the Hampton. On that same square you'll find the Pink House restaurant..fantastic, an absolute must.

We're staying using Marriott points. So we would like to pick one of the Marriotts. East Bay St is close to the Marriott Riverfront right? We will definitely try that restaurant. We've heard a lot of good things about it.

The Marriott on the River at at the far end of river st. I would probably stay at the Courtyard. It is a pretty nice courtyard and easier to walk to the Market and other parts of river street from. However, the Marriott Riverfront looks much nicer than the courtyard.

I agree with last poster...Courtyard is definitely more conveniently located.

And, the East Bay Inn looks nice. It has a great location.
