Preakness Transportation

What do you recommend for transportation from downtown to Pimlico? We're staying at Sheraton City Center. Thanks!

definitely take the subway to rogers av and then transfer to the shuttle bus to the track. you need to buy a day pass. ($3.50, I think instead of the $3.20 roundtrip fare)

Does anybody know how easy and quick it is to get a taxi after the race? Is it set up well with nicely formed taxi lines or is it a mess that takes forever? I am not concerned about the cost. I am just trying to figure out if getting a taxi back to the inner harbor area would be faster than taking the shuttle and subway. Thanks.

Forget a taxi. Best bet is shuttle bus to light rail or subway.

depending on what time you leave really matters. If it is during the crush (right after the preakness), neither is great but there will be many buses lined up to take you back to the subway which is just a 15 minute ride to the inner harbor stops (charles center or shot tower). If you wait until well after the last race, then it may be easier but maybe you will become our expert on this if you decide to try the taxi route.
