safe area to stay

We are planning to use Jacksonville as a stop on our way to Orlando. We are looking for a place to stay in a nice area of Jacksonville. Mid range in price with a poll and breakfast. We would also like to visit the Cat ranch so maybe something close yo that. We will be spending a lot of time in the car already. But safety is top priority. Thanks.

The Catty Shack Ranch is about 15 minutes from the Jacksonville International Airport, so I would recommend that you stay in one of the airport hotels. The area is fine as far as safety goes. Our favorite is the Hyatt Place - which is mid priced, includes a hot breakfast and has a pool. Here's a link: …hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html

Enjoy your trip!

Vicki's choice is great...but it's a place where you'll seep, not sight see. I'd consider one of the hotels closer to downtown. Hampton Inn on the Southbank or the Hyatt downtown. Closer to the "real" Jacksonville.
