We will be in Jacksonville for for one day ,interested in going to port area to view the cruise ships
If its like Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, and I'm sure it is, you aren't allowed inside the port unless you are a worker, contractor or passenger. It's due to security issues. You generally have to show your ticket to get through the gate. Homeland Security guards them.
Did you want to see the port facility itself? Or did you want to see cruise ships?
If you wanted to see the Port facility itself, like GK95 said, you wouldn't be able to get in.
Here, you might see one cruise ship, if the day and your timing were right. Jacksonville is not a cruise ship mecca.
