November Honeymoon in Gettysburg

My fiance and I are looking to spend five days before Thanksgiving in Gettysburg as our honeymoon. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as tours that will be open at this time, places to stay, restaurants for some romantic meals? I appreciate any feedback!

That sounds lovely! You will be able to hire a licensed battlefield guide, and the Visitors Center will be open.

I live in the area so I haven't stayed in any of the hotels or inns, but these always look nice to me:

The Inn at Lincoln Square

The Federal Pointe Inn

The Inn at White Oak

Lots of great places for dinner...check out the restaurant reviews for Gettysburg, see what appeals to you, and ask more questions here.

Federal Pointe Inn gets high marks.

You could also stay and dine at the Inn at Herr Ridge

I recommend the Dobbin House, they take reservations for the dining rooms, very unique. Start with a cocktail in the Springhouse Tavern downstairs (French Onion Soup...awesome!)

Totally renovated rooms at the Gettysburg Hotel, larger rooms with a fireplace and whirlpool tub. Rooms with a view overlooking the square. And then their new restaurant One Lincoln.

Lot's of other choices in town. If it's a nice day, try the Segway tour on the Battlefield as well. Check Hauser Estate winery with a beautiful view from atop the hill. Adams County winery is also a sort drive off Rt 30 and worth a stop.

Thank you both so much! I really appreciate your input. We'll be staying at the Inn at White Oak which was the first piece of the puzzle.

I have a weakness for French Onion soup, so the Dobbin House is on the list!

I am interested in ghost walks and the like. I wasn't sure if this was something that could be arranged in late November at all? I haven't been able to find any and I always find these interesting.

Thanks once again for your help so far!

Dobbin House is nice for the historical ambiance, and the onion soup is my favorite thing there. Have fun... we got married in Gettysburg and had our reception at Dobbin House.

For other places to eat be sure to hit Orourkes, Blue and Grey, and St. Amand's Cafe for any meal also. Devils Den is very romantic in the fall. I have seen someone propose on those rocks at sunset. It would have been perfect if it wasnt for all us other folks around! lol
