Fishing cabins near Gettysburg

My son and I will be visiting the Gettysburg area this summer. I was hoping to find a cabin on a lake or river to stay during our visit. I would like to be central to Gettysburg and Antietam. Can anyone recommend any areas to check for fishing cabins. Thank you for everyones ideas and input.

Here are some places to start. We're kind of river challenged in Gettysburg, so most of these places are a half hour to an hour away.

Frederick County, just over the MD line, has some listings:

Some Pennsylvania state parks came to mind, but they are all about an hour away from Gettysburg. Cowans Gap has a great lake, and it does have cabins. It's to the west of Gettysburg.

Gifford Pinchot is in the other direction, which would make it even further from Antietam. One advantage is that it has the camper cabins that are cheaper and are not usually booked solid for the summer.

Thirty minutes north of Gettysburg is Mountain Creek campground. I've driven by but haven't stayed. It's very close to Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Lots of trout fishing. (Pine Grove Furnace has one cabin rental, by the way, but it's not on the lake)

Down in Washington County there are lots of places. It would be closer to Antietam--probably an hour or so from Gettysburg.

Here is another site in Washington County, MD

Good luck! I hope this gets you started!
