Need a hotel near Harrahs Chester

Coming into Philly next weekend to return our daughter for her senior year of college. Wanted to go to AC, but room rates are ridiculously high. Are there any nice, clean, hotels near the Harrahs-Chester casino?? Returning to western Pennsylvania the next day - so we'd like to stay in PA. Thanks!

Chester is not that nice an area. I'd consider West Chester PA hotels

Airport hotels is a good option, or the Holiday Inn Select in Claymont, DE.

If you are driving there are several choices just across the Commodore Barry Bridge in New Jersey. While it is a different state it is closer to Chester than many PA options. Try the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Swedesboro which are both about 15 minutes from the casino.

What college is your daughter returning to? That may help find something near her.

rocknroll52 is correct. Chester is a bad area. However, West Chester, which is the complete opposite, is too far from Harrah's (about 20-30 minutes without traffic). You should consider staying at the hotels around the aiport except the Days Inn, which is actually located in Chester. It's a bad hotel and the area is even worse.

I believe that the Septa bus takes you directly to the casino from the airport hotels.

I googled the bus route from Harrah's to the airport. It seems like Ramada is the closest by bus to Harrah's (and the closest hotel by car as well besides the Days Inn). Red Roof Inn seems to be the second closest of the airport hotels, and has better reviews than the Ramada. The Red Roof Inn and the Ramada actually only show a 5min drive to the casino.

I was thinking West Chester because it is on the way back to Pittsburgh.

Both the Red Roof Inn and the Ramada are in Essington, south of the airport. Neither Essington nor any of the Essington hotels is anything to write home about (I have stayed in two of them) and housekeeping is inconsistent, so I cannot describe them as the "nice, clean hotels" you want. Their principal attraction is price and, if you are a AAA member, it will be discounted a little more from the advertised rates.

As for location, Essington is about 7 minutes closer to Harrah's versus most of the airport hotels. Essington also lacks restaurants so, if you want anything more than basic diner food, you'll have to drive anyway. Harrah's does have restaurants, however, and that would be your best choice if your are going there anyway.
