Just wanted to say I spent a night at the Club Quarters last summer for a one-night getaway and the location was great. The rooms were a little small, but since we were only two people we were fine. Wouldn't want to cram a family of four in there, however.

Walk a block and a half to 18th and Chestnut and have a drink on the rooftop deck of the Continential Midtown. The view is great if it is a nice day. Do it during the day, though - it gets loud, crowded and trendy at night, unless you are into that whole scene. It is a tad expensive for drinks, but they have some wonderful frou-frou cocktails.

Tria is also around the corner (123 S. 18th street) as well - they have great wines and beers and a complete menu of small plate food such as bruschettas, sandwiches and fabulous cheeses. Really great to sit at the bar and munch away kind of place.

Enjoy!

I have 2 other alternatives. Take the 108 bus to the 69th Street Terminal and transfer to the Market-Frankford line and ride to the 15th Street station. Walk one block south on 15th or 16th. Or take the 108 bus to the same location and transfer to the 21 bus to 16th and Chestnut streets. The 108 bus also connects with the 42 bus at 69th Street and

Marshall Road and with subway-surface trolley route 13 on Chester Avenue and Church Lane, Yeadon, as well as subway-surface trolley routes 11 and 36 in the vicinity of Elmwood Depot, Elmwood Avenue and

Island Road.

The second alternative is to take the 37 bus and transfer to the Broad Street Subway to Walnut-Locust station and walk 2 blocks west on Walnut or Locust to 16th.

PCC2733,

As a frugal guy who is more than comfortable with exploring local transit, I would probably consider those options as a single visitor. However, those routes aren't the most direct and may be a cumbersome ride for someone with a lot of luggage and/or family.
