Deals on Priceline to Philadelphia?

I wonder if people could share their 'name your price' deals

on Priceline & what you paid compared to a regular advance purchase fare.

I wonder if anyone flew from Cincinnati, Dayton, Indianapolis, or Louisville?

I'm considering bidding on Priceline, 'name your price' for a 2 day trip to Philadelophia. These places are approximately the same distance to Philadelphia, I think. I believe the cost of airfares are based on air miles.

If you've got a good deal, how many days in advance did you

bid? What did you pay, if you wish to share this.

My schedule is very flexible and wonder if my chances would be better to travel on the weekend, except for a holiday weekend, like the 4th of July or Labor Day.

thanks

Liz

Yes, tried yesterday but kept bid low, with no luck.

I can try again in 72 hours, will increase my bid.

Can someone clarify, since the payment is made through

Priceline, the hotel doesn't have any reason to ask you

for a credit card, right?

I ask because, someone could book a pay for a room, for

someone else. This would allow the person using the room,

not having to use or have a credit card.

I used Priceline to book four nights at a 3.5 star downtown hotel at $56/night (my initial bid of $52 was rejected). I ended up at the Crowne Plaza. It's Center City West, very convient to Rittenhouse Square. I found downtown Philly to be very walkable, and appreciated using the underground walkways to get out of the heat and rain. The one warning I'll give you is that the Crowne Plaza has a handful of smaller rooms on each floor... they seem to use these rooms for their Priceline/Hotwire guests. Since I was alone, it wasn't a big deal for me, but it would have felt a little crowded if I was sharing the room with a colleague.
