Fall Foilage Peak

When does the fall foilage usually peak in the Mammoth Lakes area? Trying to decide when to visit this fall. Two choices: First weekend in October (1 - 4) or Veteran's Day Weekend (Nov 11 - 14).

You will likely see more fall colors in October than you would more than 1 month later in November. Personally I think mid October is best but it's already cooling off so if that trend continues it could be earlier by as week or more this year. I think your early October date would be better than November.

The trees generally have color by mid-September through late October. Here's a great fall color guide:
