Death Valley Itinerary

I am potentially planning a trip to Death Valley at the end of Feb. (2 adults). Would three nights there be sufficient to do some good hikes and see the park? Do you have a strong feeling regarding Furnace Creek Inn vs. Ranch? Thank you.

Renton,

You can do some really good hikes in three days, but you will not come close of course to seeing the park, which is huge.

We just returned from staying at the FCI. The FCI is without question, expensive. What it has is very nice rooms, some with an excellent view and balcony, conducive to early morning coffee and late night wine drinking, a fair restaurant, an outstanding warm spring fed romantic pool, complete with bathrobes and fires at night to warm you as you exit from a star lit swim. In short, expensive but lots of advantages.

The FCR is a two star type of motel. You will find a typical motel room, lots of families, and none of the romance but good clean accomodations.
