Flying visit on stopover

We have a stopover in jfk on our way to Edinburgh and have 8 hours to do a quick visit is this do-able to maybe go to the 9/11 memorial have a bite to eat then back to airport ??? Any tips on travel would be appreciated

Yes, it's possible. You have to think about what to dowith luggage. There,s luggage storage in 3 terminals at JFK but that may slow you down a bit. Train or taxi are broadly your travel options. It's an hour in each direction between Manhattan and airport. Int'l flights often want you there 2-3 hrs in advance. Still leaves you 3-4 hrs.

So you are arriving on a domestic flight and transferring for your return to Edinburgh?

(If arriving on an international flight you must pick up luggage for going through customs and immigration.)
