Best transportation option from EWR to Conrad

What would be the best transportation option from EWR to the Conrad in Battery Park?

I hear that super shuttle is horrible and the subway seems like there is a lot of walking and transferring between buses and subways.

What day of the week is your trip? If you're doing this on a weekday I would just get in a local taxi at EWR and take it to Newark Penn Station. This is a short trip, but make sure the driver understands you're going to Newark Penn Station and not New York Penn Station.

At Newark Penn Station take a PATH train, bound for the World Trade Center. These trains start at Newark Penn Station and only go to the World Trade Center from that station, so there shouldn't be any confusion.

The World Trade Center station is on Vesey Street, just east of the West Side Highway. Walk west a couple of blocks to the hotel, which is on the corner of Vesey and North End Avenue, just east of the West Side Highway.

Google maps says it's a 1/3 of a mile walk. You could always take a cab for this portion as well, but it will take longer than just walking over.

This route won't work on weekends when the WTC PATH station is closed for repairs to the Hudson River tunnel from Hurricane Sandy.

Whenever we fly into EWR, we always take a taxi home (to the Village). The taxis are a flat rate depending on where you will be going, and they are provided by the uniformed agent at the taxi stand just outside of the baggage claim area. Here is more information:

If you have the APP for UBER and an account, see what their rates are.

From EWR to the WTC by public transportation, there are no buses required, and all the train changes are easy. Just take the Newark Airtrain to EWR Rail station, take a NJ Transit Train to Penn Station New York, and a downtown E train (go to the front of the train) to the end of the line (WTC), 2 little blocks from your hotel.

Total time 50 minutes, total cost $15.00 No buses, no long walks, mostly escalators and elevators, one set of 10 steps to the downtown E train. (The C train comes within 1/4 mile of the E train's station at Chambers St-WTC also.)
