Brooklyn - Park Slope

I'm visiting New York later in the year and will be staying in East Midtown. My friend and I would like to spend an afternoon/evening in the Park Slope area and wondered what our options are for getting back to our hotel at night.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks for that useful info, Queensboulevard.

A few years ago when I was in New York, a friend and I wanted to walk from Prospect Park back to Brooklyn Heights, but after walking for a while (I'm not sure on what street, probably 3rd St.) it got kind of desolate so we turned back. I think we almost made it to the Gowanus canal.

Is this actually an okay walk?

Hi

It's ok in the daytime, but not scenic - more desolate/industrial in spots...there is a bus that runs on Union St. (and a bit of 3rd St & Sackett St in the Gowanus area) which connects Park Slope to Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens...the bus is the B71 - you can download a PDF map here: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/maps/index.html
