We are 2 x couples (early 60"s) & are visiting New York for the first time - arriving via cruise ship in September 2014, then departing on flight home a week later.
As we want to see most of the usual tourist great sights on offer, thought best to stay somewhere handy to most.
Would Times Square be the best location for us?
Usually we stay in an apartment ( 2 x bedrooms + 2 x bathrooms) when in a city for this length of time as we like that they have choice to cook if needed + washing machine etc (after being on cruise for sometime) but have noticed that this is an illegal practice for our length of stay so now wanting hotel advice.
Require as stated, good location, clean, comfortable rooms, mid priced with wi fi. So many listed but they also have different reviews so hoping for an updated listing.
Taxi: If we take taxi from cruise port to hotel, would that be cheaper for 4 people than by public means & do they except 4 people with 4 x large luggage bags?
I know seasons are changing around the world - what can we expect the weather to be like in mid September in New York?
Just starting to put details together & any advice would be appreciated to help book our hotel & days enjoying New York. So looking forward to this holiday.
