Cheapest taxi for 6

What would the cheapest taxi service be from JFK to just over the bridge to New Jersey, Exchange Place (PATH Station) for 6 adults with 6 big briefcases? If we found anything around 100$ that would be great.

A briefcase is a small case carried by business people and usually not considered "big". Is that all you are carrying? Or do you really mean suitcase or luggage containing clothing for a longer stay?

There is only one "taxi" service from JFK (and in all of NYC). There are also car services. The cheapest won't necessarily be the most reliable. There are lots of cheap and unreliable services out there, so be careful.

For car service, Dial 7 is often recommended on the forum. You can contact them to get a quote. http://www.dial7.com/

If your bags are just briefcases and not big suitcases, you could take a minivan taxi from the airport to Manhattan and take the PATH train from there.. It's a flat rate that comes out to ~$70 including tolls and tips to anywhere in Manhattan. .

Regular NYC taxi fares to NJ is across state lines and would be negotiated. I think doing Dial 7 would be simpler. Rates are usually quite reasonable and similar to what a taxi would cost. You can post for opinions about whether Dial 7's quoted rate is reasonable.

If you have large luggage, not briefcases, then that's different. You would need a larger van or two smaller vehicles. DIal 7 has larger vans as well.
