Recs for Off-Broadway Shows for 11 and 14 yr.-old girls?

August does not have the sales that it used to, so I'm looking at an off-Broadway show or two to add for our upcoming trip. We are especially partial to musicals. If anyone's seen or heard good things about a show, please share. Thanks!

You can catch reviews for all these at http://www.didhelikeit.com/

Peter and the Starcatcher has to be at the top of your list. It's a Tony winner and a LOT of fun and VERY theatrical and the adults in your party will enjoy it as much as the kids

Potted Poter if they're Harry Potter fans

Blue Man is a perennial favorite for families, a guaranteed hit with teens and their parents

Stomp -- all percussion using everyday objects

Around The World in 80 Days -- I saw this with my son when it was done at the Irish Rep and it was a lot of fun

Is that enough or do you need more?

Oh, I forgot to mention that none of these are musicals but don't let that stop you.

What dates will you be here? Off brodway musicals come and go all the time I follow that particular genre pretty closely but I don't see much opening in August that would be right for your aged kids. But the above are sure fire

That's a great start, so thanks. I'll check out that link you provided.

They are both Broadway Babies and quite mature. Which of those you listed would be your top pick knowing that? We'll be there Aug. 9-12.

Peter and the Starctcher. Hands down. I've seen it twice. My two teens loved it. The 4 adults I've sent to see it loved it. It won lots of Tonys when it was on Broadway (it just recently moved to Off Broadway). I

Thanks so much for your tip. I'll run it by my girls.

I just bought tickets to "Cinderella" and will probably choose "Newsies" for our second Broadway show. We're excited!

Well, we are going off-Broadway for our choice but decided not to do another musical--even though we are musical nuts. We're seeing "iLuminate: Artist of Light" instead. A few years ago, we watched them compete on "America's Got Talent," so we're looking forward to their full show. Thanks for all your suggestions!

I don't know that show, clanwilson, but it you're looking for some good pizza nearby I can recommend Uncle Marios on 9th Avenue. I'm not saying it's the best, but it is good and you can sit down and it's near so if you're looking for cheap eats it's a good. also, in the plaza next to the theater is a Mother Burger http://www.motherburger.com/ and a Blockheads Burritos http://www.blockheads.com/ , neither of which have I eaten at but they get good reviews. If the weather is nice you can eat outside
