getting around in New York

I will be travelling to NY in September with my husband and 7 year old, we have some activities booked, but have to be at certain places by 7am, we are staying in the upper westend, what is the best form of travel?

its the upper west side (or UWS) by the way ;-)

I would say subway(it runs 24/7, 365 days a year) and buses are good too (NOT the HOHO buses I hasten to add). How long are you here for?

yes the subway runs 24 hours a day , you may even find it to be standing room only at midnight , grab a 7 day unlimited metro card each and use it not only on the subway , but also the buses and the Roosevelt Tramway

Another vote for the subway. It's a piece of pie.
