Short weekend review.

Short and simple.

Our usual week before Xmas trip to New York with another stay at what now is becoming our favorite hotel, Marriott Marquis, in Times Sq, from here we made our way up to Central Park and walked 5th with frequent stops in and out of stores, our must visit to St Patrick’s, my Grand Daughter just had to have a cross with Jesus on it so what better place to buy it then in St Patrick's, from here it was on to Bryant Park and the surrounding area.

Macys is a must stop for the wife in which we did the following day along with a trip to the village, had a great breakfast at the Waverly Diner at the 4th street station. Walked around taking in the sights then back up town for more small gifts.

Overall a great mini trip even though the weather was not agreeing with us on Sunday but who cares we were having a great time.

The Xmas sights and sound of the City.

Hi Diceman...do you like the Marriott Marquis better than the Doubletree?

And what were those suspended crystal snake things? Didn't seem very Christmas-ey!

Where else did you eat besides the Waverly Diner?

Great photos. I especially like the Harry Winston store decorations.

Was the TS view from your hotel room?

" Hi Diceman...do you like the Marriott Marquis better than the Doubletree?"

I do, Doubletree wins on its Std rooms since you get two separate rooms and a good size bathroom but the Marquis is IMO more beautiful, has a huge lobby and nice bars to relax at. Overall the Marquis is a bit more upper-scale, to compare its like the Bellagio and the Mirage.

I would however positively recommend Both these hotels.

" And what were those suspended crystal snake things"

I believe it was a Jewelry Store really didn’t have anything to do with Xmas but thought it was cool.

" Was the TS view from your hotel room?"

It was but I must admit I really don’t ask for a room with a view, we have been to NY a number of times so its not that important to me or the wife but if it happens then all the better.
