Quirky surrounding, fun, unusual places to eat in Manhattan?

Hi

Looking for any suggestions for cool, fun restaurants in NYC over the festive period (23rd dec - 4 jan).

Nothing too pricey or fancy, but preferably somewhere with a fun atmosphere, quirky surrounding, cool/unusual decor...that kind of thing.

The foot doesn't have to be anything fancy/amazing - mainly just looking for somewhere with maybe a theme or a particularly interesting selling point.

Anywhere that has OTT christmas decor would be cool too! :)

Any suggestions welcome!

(Staying at the Hampton Inn in Chelsea but doesn't necessarily have to be in that area)

OTT Christmas decorations would definitely include Rolf's.

It's virtually always x-mas at the Yaffa cafe. Located in the East Village, Yaffa is a medley of leopard skin prints, strange decor and christmas lights. The food's pretty good too. It's been there for generations, so they must be doing something right.

Mitali stands a cut above the other restaurants in Little India. The decor is also as wonderful as the food.

Rolf's has over the top Xmas decorations (German food) but I hear the food's not very good.

Peanut Butter & Co. serves only peanut butter in dozens of flavors (and is supposed to be good)

Rice to Riches serves only rice pudding in lots of flavors

Jekyll & Hyde (go to the one in the village)

Ellen's Stardust Diner (singing waitstaff)

Mangia e Bevi (Italian with party atmosphere)

Here are some unique theme bars/lounges
