Where to eat and what to do (2 days in NYC)????

Hi! We're coming to NY for 2 nights next weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. We've been there several times, but usually for specific concerts or other things and haven't really just done the "New York" thing. We've got tickets for Glengarry, Glen Ross at the Jacobs Theatre on Saturday night and we're staying at the Waldorf Astoria. Where would be a good place to have dinner around the theatre or hotel that night? The only meat I eat is seafood, so good seafood or vegetarian options are a must. We're not looking to spend a fortune though.

Also, what are some good tours or activities we can do on Sunday or Monday (we leave Mon. night)??

Danny's Grand Sea Palace on Restaurant Row (btw. 8th and 9th Ave. on 46th St.) has a pre-theater deal for $22.95. They get good reviews on menupages.com.

Another reasonably-price Restaurant Row choice with lots of seafood and veg choices is Bangkok House.

For Sunday, you might consider a Gospel music tour. There are some in Harlem, and B.B. King Blues Club and Grill (near Times Square) has a Gospel brunch Sunday afternoon.

Esca, 212-564-7272, is an Italian seafood restaurant on W. 43rd just past 9th Ave. Very good. Le Madeleine (www.lemadeleine.com) is across the street, a terrific bistro with a full menu, including delicious fish.

I'm not too wild about Blue Fin, a popular seafooder in the W Times Square, and nearby City Lobster is a letdown.

As for Sunday, what kinds of things are you looking for? Endless possibilities in New York. Since you've been here before, you might have already done the tourist attractions, so might enjoy spending some time exploring a couple of neighborhoods, or just hanging in Central Park. Take a look at Big Apple Greeter (www.bigapplegreeter.org), an all-volunteer organization that matches visitors with New Yorkers to show them around their favorite neighborhoods for FREE.
