I know it gets asked all the time!

Can anyone help with the New Year debate please. If I book into the Westin Time Sq or the W Time Sq do they provide viewing areas for the ball drop,or do you have to be outside from early afternoon? Or maybe I should think of a hotel near Central Park for the Fireworks? Help Please . Thanks

You'd have to contact the hotel directly to see if they provide passes for the festivities. I like to watch the fireworks from Bethesda Terrace in Central Park because you're so close. I'd think watching from a hotel window would be like watching on TV.

These 3 hotels have rooms with views of the ball dropping.

Renaissance New York

DoubleTree Guest Suites

Marriott Marquis

Prices will be outrageous. To my knowledge the hotels you mention don't provide any viewing areas b/c they don't have any but maybe I'm wrong. I know they will provide you will "passes" to get through so you can return to your hotel if you go out.

Here's a website I found this morning that answers a lot of NYE questions

timessquarenyc.org/nye/…ballLowered

For a room with view of fireworks, you'll also pay a lot. You'd need something with a view of Central Park.
