Are you staying in a hotel elsewhere in NYC for the rest of the trip? If so, is there a reason why you can't just go there?

Why can't you go straight to your hotel in NYC or are you traveling straight on from JFK? If you are traveling on and have an early flight out, I would stay at the airport. The hotels around JFK aren't all the nicest.

JFK does not allow passengers to sleep at the terminals. You will not be allowed to lie down nor will there be any restaurants etc. open for you. If you are prepared to sit up all night and don't want to spend the money on a hotel and are leaving on another flight in the early morning, stay at the terminal.
