Restaurants

Hello! This is my second time to NYC and the first time I visited, we absolutely loved all our restaurant choices. We ate at the following restaurants the first time: ABCkitchen, parkavenueautumn, The Nomad, locanda verde, Grammercy Tavern, and Beauty & Essex. This time for our second visit we are planning on eating at Nougatine at Jean Georges (Breakfast), Upland, and Le CouCou, would these 3 restaurants fall in the same line of the restaurants we went to for the first time? Any others we should add in this range?

Thanks!

Yes, I think so.

You might like to also consider ABC Cocina. It's a sister restaurant to ABC Kitchen and they're right by each other. ABC Cocina is latin inspired. The food is great and very flavoursome.

If you want to go to Le Coucou you will need a reservation. The seatings sell out very quickly via Opentable. I believe the reservations open at midnight (EST) 28 days out.

Two suggestions:

1) We really enjoyed NoMad recently.

2) The Lunch Deal at Del Posto never disappoints.

Enjoy!

The NoMad Bar in the NoMad restaurant has good food too apparently. Different to the restaurant.

Nougatine by Jean Georges is a more casual version with a great prix-fixe lunch.

Also check out the Z-List from the forum's Ziggy food blog:

https://eatingwithziggy.com/2015/12/08/introducing-the-z-list/

All of the suggestions on that will cost between $10 to $100 per person.....and the food will be good. And will more than likely have no tourists in sight, besides yourselves.

A few from there that I've enjoyed and you might like:

Taboon (Middle-terranean, casual but good)

Maialino (Italian, bit more upmarket)

American Cut (Steak, great)

The Marshal (farm-to-table, casual local place)

Blue Ribbon Sushi (Japanese, more than just sushi)

Santina (coastal Italian, great if the weather is warm, sit outside)

Bowery Meat Company (steak, better than American Cut I thought)

Momofuku Nishi (very creative and delicious Korean and Italian fusion)

Marta (great Roman Italian food, their carbonara pizza with potatoes is excellent)

Lilia (Italian, over in Brooklyn but a big "destination dining" place)

Le CouCou is mad booked up. Do you have reservation yet? Personal favs in that ballpark would include Atera, Cosme, the Modern, Marea. Or maybe it's time to head out to Brooklyn for either Lilia or Olmstead. (Or I could just eat at Gramercy Tavern or No ad every night.)

Thank you everyone! Yes, we do actually have a reservation for Le CouCou on Saturday night for my sister's 30th birthday!
