Beaches where you can rent lounge chairs?

This may be a dumb question, but I'm wondering if there are any SD area beaches with beachfront resorts where you can rent lounge chairs even as a non resort guest. We were able to do this in Mexico and it was nice to be able to take a break from the sun, have a drink, snack, while not leaving the beach. We were at mission beach yesterday but have not yet traveled to other areas. Thanks so much for any advice or tips.

Hi,

As you saw at Mission Beach , there are no rental facilities right on the sand.

We have very few on the sand hotels.

The Hotel del Coronado is one and some other tourist reported that they were allowed to rent beach equipment even though they weren't hotel guests. I was surprised to hear that and have no personal experience that it is actually true.

You can however sit on their beachfront terrace and order drinks.

There are no beaches here that offer any kind of meal or alcohol service on the beach itself!! In fact , alcohol is not allowed on the sand here which is different than in Mexico.

Im almost positive at the Del you can not only rent lounge chairs and covered cabana like things (not quite a cabana) for both guests and non-guests they also have a private area of the beach that they serve drinks on.

You may want to call the hotel for a definitive answer.
