Is 10 days too long for San Diego?

Hi, I hope to visit San Diego late November flying in from Las vegas. It's my first trip to SD and I'm wondering whether 10 days may be too long and drag. Is there enough to do and is it as safe as Florida (Naples/Sarasota). Any advice would be appreciated. Regards Phil.

San Diego is perfectly safe. It does not have Florida -like weather and November can be iffy. It won't be freezing--never any snow--but it can be cool and rainy . The county of San Diego is the same size and shape as our state of Connecticutt, so there are actually 4 different weather areas-coast, inland(10 degrees warmer) mountains, and desert. Ten days sounds like a lot, but, besides beaches we have lots of animal attractions-zoo, wild animal park,&Sea World. If that's not your thing there's theater, music, from rock to classical-historical stuff, hiking, casinos and spas. YOu could certainly take a car and spend some time in the desert, or a quick flight up to San Francisco. I personally hate LA but as a tourist there are things to see there within 2 hours drive or a train ride.If you describe what you like I might be able to suggest better ideas. Good LUck with your planning.

As Riff's mom pointed out, San Diego is very safe, and there's lots to do. Here are a couple websites to give you an idea of San Diego, and what the various things to do and see:

Hi Riffsmom & Chissis, thanks for your input. I will proberbly split the 10 days with 5 in San Diego & 5 in somewhere like Cancun, although I'm having problems finding anywhere in Mexico thats not All Inclusive...I've always believed you get what you pay for & want in life! Saying that...It will be at the end of my holiday therefore a nice quiet beach after all the hustle & bustle really would be most welcome! Your comments please. Regards Phil.

Sorry! I've only been to the area around Cancun off of a cruise ship so I don't know the hotels. But, it seems to me that at least the weather will be warm since you'll be on the Carribean side. Have you tried local Yucatan web sites? Good Luck

hi phil:

if you want a quiet beach, i dont recommend cancun. however, the town of playa del carmen might be an option. it is about an hour or so south of the cancun airport. the area is commonly known as the mayan riviera, or riviera maya. check out these sites for hotels that are not all-inclusive. i love playa del carmen, but stayed outside the town at an all-inclusive.

you can check tripadvisor, but they are probably mostly AI -
