Staying Downtown

Hello. We are considering a visit to San Diego over the week of July 4th with our 10yo son. We are looking for a fairly central location where we can explore the region by car. We don't need to stay on the beach although we would like to visit one for a few hours one day. The Manchester Grand Hyatt has some great rates that week - would this be a suitable location? Are there restaurants within walking distance where we could grab dinner in the evenings? Thanks!

Yes

Many, there are probably 100 Downtown restaurants, most within a couple of minutes walking from the Grand Hyatt, if not a quick Uber or trolley ride

The Manchester Grand Hyatt is a very nice place and there are dozens upon dozens of restaurants in the immediate area. Plus you have Coronado across the bay by ferry or Little Italy a long walk or short trolley ride away.
